australian open - day 4
you know what i love about day 4? that pierce lost! if she wins, she'll face hingis - a fast pace player. i wonder how hingis handle pierce slower than turtle pace of style if they really meet.
and hewitt lost must have stunned the aussie crowd. though they said he was suffering an ankle injury but through out the match he has too many unforce errors - all 62 of them while chela only half of that figure. you could say he self destruct on that match. no more that annoying "come on" and fist pumping. don't you think he is quite a different person since he got married? this piece of news is old but pretty much says what i think of hewitt and his wife.
i have actually draw up my own outcome of the 3rd round. after tomorrow's result, i'll know how many of them is correct! yipee! my prediction starts on saturday!
tidbits:
day 4 schedule of play
day 3 complete result
day 4 tv schedule (for SEA only) as usual from 8am till the last match on night session

tidbits:
American Alex Bogomolov was fined $4,500 for verbal abuse and obscene language after his heated first-round match with Chile's Fernando Gonzalez at the Australian Open. more and remember to watch the clips at espn.com (hopefully it's still there by the time you watch it)
"Maybe further down the road in my career, in a couple of years when I'm maybe not that fast any more around the court, then maybe it would be good to come to the net a little bit more often." Roger Federer makes plans for his old age. writer's note: federer is good in every position he's playing
"I wouldn't call him my mate." Lleyton Hewitt on his rematch with Juan Ignacio Chela - the man who spat "in his direction" last year. writer note: excuse me lleyton, maybe you should re-evaluate your behaviour why other players acting like that towards you in the first place!
"inside the court you really feel like killing him" guillermo coria commented about hewitt on their davis cup tie in 2005. writer note: i couldn't agreed more with you.
Switzerland's Roger Federer, the No. 1 player in men's tennis, comes from a country with fewer people than New York City. The sport's top team title, the Davis Cup, belongs to Croatia, a nation four years younger than second- ranked Rafael Nadal of Spain. Small Is Big in Men's Tennis, Where Swiss, Croatians Top U.S.
Two elements of the Sorry Aussies story, though, beg to be treated together because of the striking similarities—and balance—they represent: the pathetic duo of Mark Philippoussis and Jelena Dokic. most pathetic story of 2005 from peterbodo's tennis world writer's note: i couldn't agreed more.

hahah.. so much for my prediction that hewitt would be the biggest challenger to federer. with nalbandian not playing too well also, looks like roddick-who-found-his-mojo will be the one to look out for now.
i was actually predict him to be in the 3rd round only to be knocked out by kiefer... well, he doesn't even have the chance to do that now! hehehe...
